For China's public-sector cloud market, Michael says the Chinese market is unique, and Chinese customers need to keep their data in China so that global companies will understand this and adapt to it if they want to enter the Chinese market. On the special strategy of the Chinese market, Michael says it cannot be called a special strategy, because the Chinese market is part of the overall strategy of SUSE, but it also says SuSE we will listen to local customers and partners, only that we are very concerned about the needs of our customers and partners.
SUSE Next Stage Focus
This conference, SUSE released three new products, including SUSE Storage beta preview, SUSE Linux Enterprise Live Patching and Amazon Network Service test driver. For the next phase of SUSE's strategic focus, Michael illustrates the following three major priorities:
1. OpenStack: SuSE will focus on OpenStack enterprise-class deployment tools to provide customers with high availability, security, and manageability enterprise-level deployment tools;
2. Linux Enterprise server: This is the core product of SuSE, currently the latest version is Linux Enterprise Server 12, this session we launched the SUSE Linux Enterprise Live patching, It helps reduce downtime costs by allowing Linux enterprise users to patch the system without rebooting. 3. Storage Products: SUSE storage is a distributed software storage solution for enterprise customers, self-healing and self-management, which is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2015. In the future, SUSE will further integrate this product into its private cloud solution.
Michael has emphasized to the author that SuSE is not a product, not everything, but the choice of technical areas of their own expertise and the quality of these technologies to provide customers with a guaranteed, so the products are important. In the near future, SuSE will be committed to fusing OpenStack distributions with software-defined storage offerings, with partners providing high availability, security, and manageability products.
