According to foreign reports, cyber security experts say that professional criminals are increasingly likely to be smarter than legitimate companies in their quest for Google's search algorithm.

Criminal gangs use a more sinister search engine optimization (SEO) approach to lure Google and other search companies into their tools to link visitors to malicious Web pages.

This approach is known as Black Hat seo, which includes keywords in the article, and a lot of crawling links from related sites, and so on.

But the criminals ' trick is much more than that: they steal content from legitimate pages and rephrase it. Industry insiders say it's hard to tell if the content is real.

They directly access the reliable Web site, link it to their own web pages, to borrow the good reputation of these sites, so that their search rankings more forward.

They also use Google's own disclosures to deal with it: The latest popular search terms, shown by Google Trends (Google Trends), are piecing together bogus pages before a real news page emerges.

"The advantage of those criminals is that they can manipulate other people's networks," says Richard Wang, head of the US laboratory at Sophos, a technology security firm. They have stretched their tentacles much longer than their legitimate institutions. ”

This results in more dangerous web searches (especially election or sporting events, celebrity accidents or natural disasters) than ever before. According to the network Security laboratory M86, in the 24 hours after the earthquake in Haiti, Google search results in the top 10, 3 pages are embedded in the "booby-Trapped Code" (booby-trapped codes).

M86 Vice President Bradley Anstis (Bradley Anstis) says the number of malicious links has increased by twice times a year, with most legitimate sites being hacked. He said that if Google can survey the site in a more in-depth, look at a single page inside the site, may be helpful to the fight against malicious links.

But what Google sees is different from what the end user sees. Every time a search engine visits a website, criminals are aware of it, revealing content that is full of keywords. When a potential victim accesses the site via Google, the offender makes a switch and reboots the visitor to another page that embeds malicious code.

In the past two years, one of the most common means has been to give users pop-up prompts, warning that the computer has a virus, and then prompting users to pay for fake security software that will only steal account information.

Computers that are not patched in the program are also manipulated to turn to a multi-purpose terminal that sends spam, or to a bank account login-or to a Web page that users have access to, which can then be implanted with more code that links to malicious Web sites.

Security experts say Google responds every time he learns of malicious Web pages or new criminal devices. But they add that Google also has a special responsibility to act as a major link between criminals and victims.

They say a wide disclosure of the algorithms used by Google could help criminals more than those who try to stop the crime.

Conversely, sharing more automated decision information with external security experts may make a difference.
