Why World Architecture Day was established

In order to arouse people's concern about the status of human settlements in its own right and the basic right to adequate housing. Since 1989, UN-Habitat has also established the "UN Habitat Prize", prompting the international community and all governments to pay full attention to the development of human settlements and solve various problems in the field of human settlements, and to encourage and recognize them as Governments, organizations and individuals that make outstanding contributions to improving the living environment inhabited by human beings are the highest-level awards in the global Habitat.
