Multi-Play Network (compiler/wendy) Although many online games in the market have adopted a free mode, the market analyst of Screen Digest, a British media market research firm, says the West's total revenue for online gaming will reach $2 billion trillion in 2014. The company published a report called "online gaming-full of opportunities in high risk", saying that in North America and Europe, the toll-type online gaming market was $1.4 billion in 2008 and $1.6 billion in 2009. It is expected that in the next five years the composite annual growth rate of users will be 4.9%, and the number of billing accounts would reach 13 million by the end of 2010. Although Screen Digest is confident that a fee-based online game will continue to play an important role in the game, the company's report also points to disturbing trends, such as the average earnings per user fell by nearly 10% last year, mainly because of "the spread of cheap fees". The company also described the current toll-type market as "very fragmented," with a large number of services that failed to break the 200,000 level of fees and compete with more powerful competitors. Depending on blizzard, "World of Warcraft" became the largest operator in the online gaming market based on fees, which controlled 56% of the total income of the 2009-year toll-net game, but decreased by 60% compared to 2008.
