If our goal is to increase the number of visits to our blog, the first question is to ask ourselves: how did people first learn about our blogs? Knowing how people learn about our blogs and visit them will help us learn how to use technology to improve the visibility of our blogs.
So, how do people find us?
someone else's website. Others, perhaps friends, co-workers, or strangers, know your site and do a link. If you take this as a clue and you have a lot of friends, it may be clear where the traffic is coming from.
Google or other search engines. Search engines are like cobwebs all over the Internet on every site. I don't know how they found your site and indexed it. Someone searches for something and sees your site in the search results. is marked with a bookmark. Yes, maybe it's not the first time people have found you, but this may be the way they visit you for the second time. If you change the domain name, path, or file name of your blog, you will no longer be able to return the bookmark. "The longer your blog is around, and the more popular, the bigger a issue this becomes."
newsfeeds. For example, Bloglines, Myyahoo, and personalized Google readers have introduced many popular and interesting feeds. You can easily create a feed for your readers to be added to their favorites to gradually improve your chances of becoming more "hot".
Public Bookmark Tool. Like Del.icio.us (delicious bookmark), Digg, stumbleupon will record what people link up and highlight the "popular" link.
someone to send your blog address to someone else. You can put a "recommended to Friend" form feature on your blog.
Print. If you have experience in the press, it will attract a lot of people to your site, especially if the media has an online model. Going to print it? Find a journalist who has visited your site and politely write an email that contains introductions and cases as a topic they can write to your blog.
