Editor's note: The following article is one of my favorite articles about http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/6934.html "> Internet entrepreneurship, recommended to everyone."

The longer I do the Internet, the more I understand the truth that ideas will pass, but they will come back, and when they come back, they are being assembled and tested again until they finally become a successful product. Maybe after reading the two little stories I shared, my friends will have a deeper understanding of this sentence.

In 95, I bought a small application netphone, which was said to allow people to make free calls over the Internet. But when I tried it, I found that because of my speed, I couldn't make a smooth phone call and I couldn't find any other friends who used the product. Later, the results can be imagined, the software gradually faded out of the market, the company estimates also closed. Then in 97, I tried a similar application, but still do not feel good. Another 00 years and 01 years.

By the time I was 03 years old, a friend of mine suddenly told me that there was a great app for people to call online for free, and that the name was cute. I was just shrugging my shoulders, and I used to try a lot more than I thought. But a little curiosity drove me to try it out. As a result, I found the software very good. Users are many and fast. That's how Skype survives and develops.

In addition, in 96, Yahoo was going to build a classified index of all the websites on the internet and invest in a team to do it. In total, there are 20 full-time employees whose goal is to classify all the sites they can find. At that time, the total number of Web sites on the Internet was about 500,000, and they tried to complete the classification of 200,000 of them, the total number of categories reached 20,000. But then the number of websites began to swell, and Yahoo thought it couldn't find enough people to continue the work, so they gave up. You may also now think that the idea that they want to build such a Web index through human resources is naïve.

But Wikipedia actually achieves this seemingly impossible task, and it is done beyond your imagination:

50% of the editing work is done by 0.7% of the users, that is, 524 people. And the most active 2% (1400 people) of the number of users contributed 73.4% of the editing work. (Source: aaronsw.com)

Looking at the above data, the result is very clear. If Yahoo hires not 50 people but 1500 people, they are likely to do better than Wikipedia today.

In fact, startups never really die. When you are frustrated in the entrepreneurial process, use this phrase to console yourself. Think carefully about what you did last year that didn't work, or what it looked like before, and it might work.

Don't be the cynic, don't say "I've seen it, none of it will work." It is good to learn from your own experience and others ' experience, but the world is changing rapidly, and the factors that make that idea seem absurd or fail may no longer exist. Maybe not yesterday, but you did it today, and you may have a great success tomorrow.

Experience is important, but don't let it block your way.
